Parts engineers play a key role in ensuring mission success for high-volume manufacturing, which is heavily integrated into space projects.

In this webinar, Mark Porter, chief engineer for the Component Engineering and Assurance Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, provided insights on how to mitigate risk and maintain high standards in the design and integration of high-volume manufacturing parts produced for space missions.

Porter explained how high-volume parts manufacturers build electronic components that meet the standards required for space applications, and how they prevent defects in high-volume production processes and ensure the reliability and integrity of space systems. He also discussed what parts engineers must do when integrating high-volume parts into their projects, from selection to testing and qualification, while maintaining Safety and Mission Assurance.
