A recently released report from an expert review panel formed under the Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act (ACSAA) of 2020, Section 103 determined that there is much work to be done to improve the safety culture at Boeing.
After a comprehensive review that included more than 4,000 pages of Boeing documents and hundreds of employee interviews, the panel identified 27 findings and 53 recommendations in the 50-page report.
The 24-member Congress-mandated panel included two NASA colleagues: Dr. Tracy Dillinger, Senior Executive Psychologist with the Safety Culture and Human Factors programs, and Dr. Immanuel Barshi, Senior Principal Investigator with Human Systems Integration.
Dillinger and fellow panel members gave testimony before Congress on April 17 about the report’s findings.
"We hope everyone reads this and learns from it,” Dillinger said about the report. “There are lessons learned that can be applied to our future work with both the FAA and Boeing."
The report is now available to the public on the FAA website.
